The
Gypsy Kitchen Workshop is an enabling process for community and the
individuals who interact together to create community.
It
is a non-heirarchical concept, encouraging participants to develop their
own sense, and a larger communal sense of play, 'place' and response-ability.
A Kitchen
is a system, as with any system it is created by the flow of energy
into and out of it. The energy gifted to the Kitchen by participants
can take the form of physical effort, ideas, food and monetary contributions,
as well as all of the multitude of things that go to creating the ideas
of kitchen and home.
The
energy that comes out of the Gypsy Kitchen can be quite surprising,
far more than a system for creating food, it is an opportunity for participants
to enrich and evolve themselves as individuals and collectively.
The
Gypsy Kitchen is not a caterer, it is a process of inspiring and enabling
a community to cater for itself and each other.
The Gypsy Kitchen Workshop may be available
by arrangement.

The Gypsy Kitchen invites participants
to evolve autonomous
self-organising action,
in this self-sustaining, interactive
workshop, developing
skills for living within
a Community environment.
Guidelines
for participation;
The individual is invited
to;
•Approach
the space with respect, and a willingness to take responsibility for one's
self.
When
you enter a new space, (even a familiar place will have changed in your
absence) it is an unknown situation. That which is happening is happening
for a reason. The situation has evolved out of the relationships between
those within the environment. The existing culture, living within the
space has developed the way it has, and respect for the participant and
their process is appropriate.
Your presence has effect; the balance is perhaps altered with any change
to the dynamic. You are the one responsible for your actions and demeanor
Ask your self;
*
How do I respect myself, and fellow participants and our processes?
*
Am I willing to take responsibility for my being?
•Through
observation, questions etc ….. Gain your own understanding of the
environment, it's function, and all those within it, with consideration
for the well being of all.
With your own unique way you are
able to see our situation and community space in a way that no other can.
Look, listen, ask questions. Gain your own understanding, through your
own set of senses, with your own processes of understanding.
Ask your self; Where are we? What
is happening?
* Who
else is here? What are their processes?
*What
do they need? How do I assess the overall well being?
•Decide
what it is that you wish to do to improve the situation, and the overall
well being of all concerned.
There
is always something which would improve the situation, some aspect which
might be made just a little bit better. And there is always some small
thing which one can find to contribute to the overall well being.
As
often as not one is tripping over opportunities for overall improvement.
clean dishes are better than dirty ones , full bellies are better than
empty ones , children , gardens and the bathroom floor all improve with
a little care and attention , and the cars around here seem to like a
bit of oil occasionally.
The overall well being is always improved
by honest open communication, a friendly ear, a story of past experience,
or perhaps just a nice little nap. Everyone can improve the level of well
being within the space we share.
•Communicate
your needs, ideas, feelings, and actions with those around you to facilitate
understanding and the well being of all.
Communication is the basis for all
good relationships. When your needs are known they can be respected. Shared
feelings help everyone understand the situation and release hidden tensions.
Everyone has a unique way of seeing the world and your unique ideas are
of value to our whole community ……… Please share them,
so all might benefit
•
ENJOY
The love and joy we
see in others
Is a source of richness for us all
Thank you.
